Meeting you as a person, not a problem to be solved

A warm, confidential space to work through anxiety, burnout and the patterns that keep you stuck - at a pace which feels right for you.

About Lauren

While we work together it will be your time, but it is sometimes reassuring to know bits about the person sitting opposite you with whom you're sharing your life.

So, where to begin? If you have found me while trying to find moments of escape, or have taken the time to go looking for help when life feels too chaotic, let's take a moment and breathe. I see you. Whether you are feeling anxious, experiencing depression, struggling with boundaries or people pleasing, we can take the time to understand what is happening for you and what you need.

I am a counsellor holding a Level Five in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I am an accredited member of the NCPS. This requires me to attend regular supervision and ongoing training, to ensure your best care. So, what does this mean? I have trained for many years with different institutions and experienced therapists to gain a diverse theoretical background, with mine being integrative. While this is a brief overview, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about qualifications and training.

Now for a few personal details, because opening up to a stranger feels weird and, trust me, I know. While I may not share all my life with you, here are some of the things I can. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of therapy. I will be with you in those moments when you are unsure and trying to navigate how you are feeling, whether that is upset, angry, overwhelmed or all the above, while also celebrating your highs along the way.

Together, we can unpack what you have been carrying at a pace that feels safe for you. I will bring myself into the therapeutic journey, if that means laughing with you or crying with you. I believe that nobody should have to face this world feeling alone and with no-one to talk to. While we have family and friends, which are important and cherished, I offer a place outside of these relationships to process in a way that you may not have previously had.

WHY THERAPY MATTERS TO ME

That immense pressure is often isolating and suffocating. My aim through therapy is to offer a space where you can voice the things you have felt the need to bury out of fear of being too much, or worry that you will be judged or not understood.

My approach

Together we can unpack what you have been carrying at a pace that feels safe for you.

Bring your trust and honesty

We work collaboratively. I will offer my insights and ask how these align with you and your experience. This is where I would like for you to bring trust and honesty into our work.

I will not always be right

I will not always be correct, and if you feel that something I have brought into the space is not landing, then we can discuss this, which often leads to a better understanding of the situation.

Putting the plates down

I will be with you in those moments when you are unsure and trying to navigate how you are feeling, whether that is upset, angry, overwhelmed or all the above, while also celebrating your highs along the way.

So that, one by one, we can begin to start putting some of those plates on the ground.

Getting off the wheel

Life can often feel like a never-ending run on a hamster wheel, never knowing when to get off and re-evaluate where you are going and for what reason other than just to keep moving.

Together, let's get off the wheel.

I will bring myself into the therapeutic journey, if that means laughing with you or crying with you. I believe that nobody should have to face this world feeling alone and with no-one to talk to.

What to expect

Before choosing to work with me we can have a free 20-minute call to discuss what you are wishing to work with and if we would align.

01
A free 20-minute call

Before choosing to work with me we can have a free 20-minute call to discuss what you are wishing to work with and if we would align, or if I believe you would benefit from being referred to another service.

02
Your first session

If you choose to work with me, the first session we will spend time working through what has brought you here, what you want to explore from our sessions and any goals you may have for our time together.

03
Working together

We work collaboratively. I will offer my insights and ask how these align with you and your experience. This is where I would like for you to bring trust and honesty into our work.

I will not always be correct, and if you feel that something I have brought into the space is not landing, then we can discuss this, which often leads to a better understanding of the situation.

04
Checking in

We regularly revisit your goals, if these have stayed the same or have evolved into something new. We will also check in with how therapy is for you, where feedback can be given on how you feel your therapy is progressing.

05
When it is time to finish

This also applies to if you wish to end our time together. This is your journey; I will not try to persuade you to stay if it is not what you want.

We can then work together to find a referral or specialist in the area you wish to work on.
